My hubby had the same thing but they didn't notice the fluid build up until he collapsed. He's now been home 3 weeks and improving sooo much quicker. You'll get there once the fluid is gone.

I am so scared of this happening and how to prevent it. Did they have you weigh every day and track if you went up 3 lbs? Were you able to do your spirometer still?

Hi yâ€™all ðŸ‘‹ Iâ€™m reporting back from a mini-sternotomy last Wednesday at CC with Dr Svensson and team. He repaired my bicuspid aortic valve and replaced my ascending aorta with a Dacron graft. I was in the ICU for two days because of a lack of beds o

Never in a billion years would I think you just had open heart surgery. Can I have what youâ€™re having?! As for restful sleep, besides the wedge, extra pillows or a recliner, it is matter of time.

Pillows are the key. Surround yourself with several under your arms etc. That seemed to help me a lot. I am a side sleeper but slept on my back for some time after surgery. And use your heart pillow as well when you sleep. Good luck!

Tomorrow's the day y'all! Nancy Sells and I met today at Cleveland and we're in good spirits, anxious but ready. Appreciate all your thoughts, prayers and positive energy. Will post updates soon.
