This is my husband's story. He doesn't do online sharing but is ok with me posting about his story, even if it's only to keep me from driving him crazy. He's just turned 50 and has BAV. He's known about it for 8 years since his dad required surgery for his own heart. He was an avid cyclist but hasn't been able to do much riding in part because his cardiologist has said to keep his heart rate below 140 and in part to a bum knee. He's ready for the surgery and just wants to get it done. He's going for a mechanical replacement - once and done is his motto.
