About Me

I found out last July, by surprise, that I had mitral valve regurgitation. I received a call from my PCP's nurse that I was being referred to a cardiologist and may need surgery. I was not thrilled with the method of delivery of this news! I ultimately selected my own cardiologist, conducted extensive research, and chose my own surgeon. After a myriad of tests, I had a right-side entry, minimally invasive, mini-thorocotomy from Dr. Scott Goldman and his team at Lankenau's Heart Pavilion just outside of Philadelphia. I was thrilled with this nearly painless procedure, 3 day hospital stay, and extremely easy recovery. The medical professionals and facility were amazing! I elected to go to rehab about two months ago and am thoroughly enjoying the exercise and interaction with other cardiac patients. Hope I can help others on this site by sharing my experience. I have followed it for months, but just joined, today.
