About Me

I was diagnosed with BAV back when I was 19, but aside from being told to take antibiotics before any medical/dental procedure, I was never told that I should be regularly checking up on it. Fast forward 20 years and while preparing to do an ACDF (neck fusion) surgery, my surgeon wanted me to get cleared by a cardiologist. At any rate, been having yearly echos since then and on last year's (2016) scan, they noticed an aneurysm of the ascending aorta. It was originally diagnosed at 4.5 cm, and stayed that way for 5 years. It began growing last year (2020, go figure) and is now ate the point the my surgeon is ready to remove it.
