I’m now 8 weeks post OHS, feeling a lot better, pretty much back to my normal routine, but I am still very tired. I had rehab yesterday (just finished week 2). Later that night we went out to dinner with friends and the. to a brewery (I didn’t drink). And... Read more.

I’m the same with the exercising. I’m really tired even walking across the parking lot but once I get started on the machines I’m a lot better and feel better right afterward. When I got home, I worked in my office a little bit, then got ready to go out... Read more.
Susan - We have more in common than just our first names! I felt exhausted for a very long time after surgery. I work from home, so I could take a little power nap in the afternoon, otherwise, I was completely wiped out. I spent decades sitting at a desk... Read more.
Thanks Susan! Yes, stairs are bad and inclines, like when you increase the incline on the treadmill. I also work from home so not a lot of movement going on there, and I take afternoon naps as well, or at least lay down and rest, and I’ve noticed if I... Read more.
Susan - My surgery was in December of 2017. But, I remember early into cardiac rehab when they were increasing the incline to 2.5 it was tiring in 10 minutes. You'll build up your strength and endurance. Now, I walk for 30 to 40 minutes alternating the incline from 4... Read more.
Thanks! I’m currently only doing a 1.5 incline and 2.7 mph for 10 min. I feel like I’m doing the same as the 80 yr olds in there! Lol!
Susan - It really does get better I promise. Please keep me posted on your progress. ❤

Seven weeks post op and started rehab this week. So far, so good! I had an appointment yesterday with the “electrician cardiologist” about the atrial flutter I had in the hospital. He took me off of the dreaded Amiodarone and the Pradaxa. I’m SO GLAD!! At 7 weeks I’m still... Read more.
Congrats! Hope you find cardiac rehab helpful. I did. Take care.
Congrats on your anniversary and getting off the Rx meds. You may be tired for awhile, but hang in there. Rehab will build up your stamina. Keep focusing on all the great adventures ahead!
Great news. Agreed...it's definitely a steady marathon.
Glad the atrial flutter is getting under control, Susan. I developed it my last day of cardiac rehab and am on Tikosyn. All is well though. I'm hitting the one year mark after mitral valve repair Friday, 9/13. Keep marking those milestones.
