Thanks Civita! Good luck with everything, I think in hindsight the waiting was the toughest part!
My all time favorite thing to do is Laugh! It helps a lot. It takes time to heal and everyone is different. But I hear you on the emotional front....that took me more time for sure, and I still have some not so good days. Good luck with recovery!

Hey friends, I'm 4 days post op and doing well - thanks for the thoughts and prayers! I got bumped forward b ya day and was a supposed to be in on the 16th but got bumped again to the 17th. I'm happy to day that things went well and... Read more.
:) make sure you stand up as straight as you can when you're up and about, and make sure to use your torture device - I mean breathing therapy! ;) -Meredith
Glad to her you're doing well! Hopefully, the pain will ease and you're recovery will go smoothly.
Great that you're doing so well, Nancy. Congratulations and I hope all things continue smoothly for you .

Hey Friends! I have a date - Nov 8th! I'm excited and nervous all at once. Any last minute advice for the remaining 4 weeks??

Keep following this blog! Lots of tips here :). Get the stuff out of the way that you may have trouble with 1-2 weeks post-op. Pay bills ahead, any outdoor work, whatever. If you are having sternotomy, start practicing getting in and out of bed and chairs without using your... Read more.
My husband and I cleaned the house carefully. It was wonderful to come home and not once think of housecleaning or picking messy newspapers etc.
I kept busy and took care of things around the house that would be inconvenient after the surgery (had a 17 year old water heater replaced). Other than that I just tried to maintain a normal routine.
