About Me

I had a highly calcified unicuspid valve. After aortic valve replacement I had a steady recovery. I am very grateful for the gift of a new valve and am very appreciative to all who made it possible. Have returned to doing all "normal" things on a daily basis. I have returned to distance running, albeit somewhat turtlelike. The valve replacement has made a big, positive difference in my life. July 29, 2017 - Its been over 2 1/2 years now and everything is going well. I do all of the normal things in life and feel quite well. Run 6 days a week, 35-40 miles per week and now run fairly fast a couple of days a week (well, fairly fast for a 62 year old anyway:)). September 10, 2021 - Still run fast intervals (1/4 milers, 1/2 milers, and 3/4 milers) a couple of days a week. I am very fortunate to be able to do this type of activity.
