About Me

My daughter is an RN and everytime she would visit, she would ask me why I was out of breath. I told her I wasn't and she kept insisting I see a heart doctor and get some tests done because we do have a history of heart problems in our family. Well, after much pursuasion on her part, I made an appointment with a local heart doctor who ordered me an echo and stress test. The stress test results turned out good but my echo showed I had mild aortic stenosis and regurgitation. After the doctor told me what the echo revealed, I starting asking him questions about each diagnosis and he seemed very impatient and almost annoyed with my questions. I left his office knowing that I was going to change doctors. I read up all I could on these two conditions and cried myself to sleep many a night. When I saw my new heart doctor, he wanted to know if I was a nurse because of the knowledge I had attained. ha ha (Good old internet)! I am so pleased with this new doctor because he takes the time I need to answer any questions I have and he comes highly recommended. I don't dwell on this problem for now because I don't have any symptoms except for some tiredness which I attribute to getting old. I really don't feel out of breath and don't know what my daughter hears when she is around me, but I do thank God for her persistence. Otherwise I would have been in the dark!
