I've had a bicuspid aortic valve since birth and it became stenotic as I got older, particularly during my puberty years. I was lucky and didn't have to have surgery until this year and this November at age 31 I had my aortic valve replaced with a tissue valve. There was also some calcification that went from my aortic valve to my mitral valve, but the surgeon was able to get all of it out.
