I just returned from my annual pilgrimage to my cardiologist, and I got a good report and a “see you next year†. I am so happy and grateful for my good health!! This is my 8th year with my cow valve and repaired ascending aorta and aortic root. WhooHoo!!!

My arteries were great as well. I do have a minor blockage in one peripheral artery that was not concerning. I do have high cholesterol in my family but am not on meds as of yet. Interesting article!
I also had great arteries when I had my cath. All five of my brothers are on cholesterol medicine and I'm not! Interesting.
I have never been diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm, but my arteries are clear and never any history of high cholesterol…maybe I should ask them to check while they’re in there! 😅

Sue, they will undoubtedly do a heart catheterization before your surgery is scheduled so they will check prior to your surgery.
