It’s 5:11 am and I just looked out front due to all of the birds chirping as they land in between the wires on our cyclone fence. There are so many of them it looks like a crossword puzzle of feathers against the black color of the wire. Rylee is... Read more.
Thank you for your warm message Terrie. Always nice to read you.
What a great vision. I have a tree outside my apartment and those sounds I’m the morning comfort me. I put a sto stool by my door so my cat can watch

Good morning to all this fine May 10th, 2024! Haven't been on the site for some time now. Wanted to check in to let you know I am still ticking and thinking of the community often. Once again, my apologies for the delay in writing. My surgery was exactly one... Read more.
Hello lovely Terrie. So nice to hear from you, thank you for writing, so sorry to hear about your difficult year as you join me in the pacemaker club + those who don't like metoprolol. That med made me feel slow and lethargic and low. Which it does to some.... Read more.
I’m taking this med along with so many other meds. It’s almost 3 weeks since my surgery and the only side effects I notice are occasional vertigo, dizziness, and shortness of breath. Don’t know what’s surgery, med, or recovery related.
Glad you are noticing positive changes finally and sorry it’s taken you so long to recover.
Oh Sister Sister! So glad to hear from you! And to meet up with anothe pacemaker person! It has been difficult on this drug as I thought I've been imagining the side effects... Lethargic and low is a hard place to be but it is going to get better because... Read more.
Terrie, I complained to my cardiologist about metoprolol (because some patients do not do well on it). Sometimes they lower your dose or give you another med or realise you don't need a betablocker any more. I had my unexpected pacemaker implanted 2 weeks after my heart surgery (9 years... Read more.
You will not believe this!!! I was born in Oakland California and also grew up in the Bay Area. Where were you living? We lived above Fruitvale Ave. On Forest Hill Ave. What a kick! Oakland High School. I am overweight because I have had balance problems where I made... Read more.
Hi Daneen. Your symptoms are same symptoms I have and with my being overweight and needing activity, I have let it take over. Over aware of pacemaker and not wanting to injure it not helping. Getting better by hearing others are experiencing the same side effects makes me feel something... Read more.
If your main problem with metoprolol is low BP / low energy, I am the same. When I had afib every doctor wanted me on metoprolol but my BP kept crashing, even on low dose. Eventually they settled on propranolol and digoxin to control the heart rate and midodrine to... Read more.
Thank you Yumiko. I will be speaking with cardiologist on the 23rd. taking any ideas or comments from the community with me.Sure we'll come up with answers!
I was on metoprolol last year to control afib and it made me very sluggish. Mid-afternoon nap. and lots of gas. Switched to diltiazem, which didn't have those problems. Some mild puffiness of my feet, but nothing serious. I have no idea if diltiazem is useful for other conditions.
Hello sweet Terrie, so glad to hear from you and also glad your issues are being resolved. I take Metropolol since my second OHS September 2022 but Thank God have not have any problems. And agree with you and our dear Rita, no place like California even with its high... Read more.
Hi Terrie! It's good to hear from you again. I have been on Metropol since surgery and like Ana have not had the problems that others have had. I hope you can get it resolved. So, I was born and raised in Ohio but next month, my husband and I... Read more.
Terrie, I grew up on 39th avenue in what I think is now called the "Laurel district" and went to Redwood Heights elementary, Bret Harte Junior high and Skyline high school. And UC Berkeley. I hope you can get to a place where you worry less about the pacemaker. It... Read more.
