5 months ago I was on the operating table. It is amazing what a difference 5 months makes...I graduated cardiac rehab last month and am at my own gym 5-6 days a week. Best wishes to everyone for a happy, healthy 2022.

Couple questions. For anyone with a mechanical valve, is the clicking noticeable to your friends and family? Have you gotten used to it over time? Also, for any of you that enjoy an alcoholic beverage, do you still do so and how much does it take to affect INR?
I have an on-x valve. It’s not really noticeable to others unless it’s very quiet and I point it out to them. I have definitely gotten used to it over the past 2 years. Doesn’t bother me at all. I drink regularly on the weekends and haven’t had any issues... Read more.

Occasionally my spouse will hear my mechanical valves (I have 2), but rarely. I rarely notice it myself, except when it is VERY VERY quiet in the room. It is fine to eat everything in moderation when you are on anticoagulants. I've never changed my diet. It's also okay to... Read more.
