Now that my mitral valve is replaced (5 months out) my BP runs lower than ever. Anybody else have this? I’m wondering if it’s because of my pump function. Thx!
Hi Diane, I believe your heart is not working as hard now as it was before your surgery, and that’s why you BP is lower.

Anybody wear compression socks? I just started using them. Hate to think of using them all summer in hot weather. Any thoughts?

No.... But my dad has to wear them all year around. He dose ok in the summer. His socks are pretty thin.
first night home we have adjustable tempepedic bed stiill not help any suggesttion to sleep?
I wear them, and they really help with the swelling. Don’t get the ones that are toeless. They’ll drive you insane! They also can rub a blister on the side of your foot/toes. I’ve never had a problem with the regular ones. I had PAD before the HF, so I... Read more.
This is one place the adjustable bed was handy. Raised my feet higher than my heart for awhile. Then I didn't need the socks as much. ..but thoughts on the socks?...they suck!! Lol
I wear knee highs, a local cardiologist suggested them to keep my heart from working so hard. I can usually keep the edema controlled, but I know the knee highs help with this as well. Unlike Patsy, I like the toe less! I dislike my toes being confined, I don't... Read more.
I wore them for three weeks after surgery. In July. I'm glad to be done with them.
