Send Delois a NoteAbout Me
I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in 1977 and received large doses of radiation. Sometime later it was learned that the treatments more than likely had caused lung damage and heart valve stenosis. I led a normal life, not thinking about my heart. Fast-forward to January 2020, when I started having increased palpations and shortness of breath. I had a heart attack in February 2020. My heart issues deteriorated and through different hospitalizations, I ended up at UVA, where I was given a list of heart problems, as well as pulmonary hypertension with rather high pressure. I was finally well enough to receive my TAVR in June 2020. I am still dealing with mitral annular calcification, mitral regurgitation and stenosis, triscuspid regurgitation and heart failure. My next appointment will most definately continue the discussion/planning for mitral valve replacement. I have just learned through right heart cath that my pressure is possibly low enough to give my doctors more options for fixing my mitral valve.
