I’m taking D, Iron, and Folate because I’m deficient for all of them. I’m hoping my bloodwork comes back better in January so I can drop the iron. Don’t expect or let people tell you that you should feel a certain way. I’m not particularly grateful. I got through ICU out of spite. Rehab was more of an obsession to feel like I was back in control and could still live on my terms.

Thanks I've also done a few social events back to back nothing too long but I went to synagogue last friday. They welcome me back some of the members knew what happened to me. I end up meeting a new friend and I spent about 5 hours total at the event or with the new friend. I finally went to a Buddhist group on Sunday caught the end of a long meditation connected with people. It's funny some people know about the surgery some don't some gets scared by hearing about it others don't seem to really care it's kind of interesting I take it on a Case by case basis I went to another meditation group a lot of Americans foreigners everybody was pretty chill I kind of scared it out of there early though because they wanted people to help with moving chairs I can't do that I made my donations before the event only said goodbye to one person I was still getting low on energy and most of it having really bad sleep and depression also facing a potential break up with my girlfriend at some point which scares the hell out of me cuz I'm single and don't have family in Thailand anyways I'm doing cardiac rehab I've been pretty much in some sort of exercise programs it's surgery I'm looking to potentially fly next week that would be about 10 weeks in the surgery but I want to clear that up with my team

19 days after surgery and just 9 days after getting out of the hospital I walk 2.78 Mi or almost 6,000 ft two different walks one to get to the subway here another one to get to a mall on the other side of the road where the subway was hard to believe that was already over a month ago I had the staff from the nursing home walk with me the second time to the mall the first time I was alone I'm actually kind of weirded out about losing the connections to the nursing over the hospital and they're coming independent again it's a very strange strange transition I still feel lost mentally I've heard the emotions can be all over the board for after a year or more I just passed the two-month Mark yesterday December 1st

Good for you David. It’s a process. This whole process kicked my butt emotionally and mentally. I am actually going to speak to someone about the trauma which was my surgery and the whole process on 12/10. I am aware of how fortunate I am to be ‘fixed’ but my anxiety is a lot. I am thankful to my cardiologist for knowing me well enough to point me in this direction. I am grateful to have the support on this site.

I also bonded with the nurses, wherever, whenever. I was obviously emotionally very needy. They were awesome. I looked forward to their home visits once I was discharged. It's all very normal. Some people definitely kind of get this shocked response at the idea of heart surgery. Others are all good and understand it. Either way, it's definitely a part of who I am now, and I don't mind people knowing.
