Hi Brian, hope your rhythm issues resolve soon. As you say, it's common to have Afib and Aflutter after the heart has been disturbed by valve surgery. I'm also a grateful Gillinov patient and was very pleased with my excellent care at CC. My surgery was one month prior to yours - mitral and tricuspid repairs and Maze. I've had three isolated rhythm issues since surgery that lasted less than a day before I converted back into sinus rhythm on my own. I'm taking Eliquis and Metoprolol but hope to wean off within a few months if all stays steady. I have two friends, also Gillinov patients, whose valve replacement surgeries were in February and March of this year. They've both had successful cardioversions back at home to get them from Afib into sinus rhythm. Wishing you well going forward. It's great being on the recovery side of all this!
