Send Brian a NoteAbout Me
Had open heart surgery at Cleveland Clinic and was very lucky to have Dr. Marc Gillinov as my surgeon. He was able to repair instead of replace my mitral valve and my tricuspid valve. Aortic valve was in good enough shape to leave alone for now. The doctors and nurses at The Cleveland Clinic were and are amazing. I can’t thank them enough. I did end up getting a pacemaker a week after my valve surgery as my hearts electrical system would only give me about 30 beats per minute on its own. I’m back in Tucson and now dealing with an atrial flutter problem which I have been told is fairly common after multiple valve surgeries. Just started cardiac rehab and hoping this might help get my heart back into a normal sinus rhythm. If not I guess I’ll try the cardioversion and if that doesn’t work then possibly an ablation. I’d like to be able to get off medications, feel better and be more active.
