One year anniversary of OHS/SAVR at Cleveland Clinic & Dr Roselli. Keep it up heart warriors.

Great news Geoff! I'm getting a new Aorta with Dr Roselli 10/27. Did you have a mini-VAR or full SVAR?
Cool. Thanks. One more question, if you don't mind, which valve did you get, make and model? Thanks in advance
It was a bovine Edwards Inspiris, 27mm. Good luck! You'll do great!
Thanks, Geoff. Here's hoping you have 20 or more years of a wonderful heart!
Looking great! Happy Anniversary. What a nice feeling after a yearโค๏ธ

In honor of my valve replacement OHS, I got this tattoo yesterday. It's a heart being sewn up & fixed with my new heartbeat

I love this. I want one bad but now on blood thinner and they wonรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt do it. Plus 83, thin skin. I got one with the oldsmobile logo at 78 but it bled a lot and is a little fuzzy. Yours looks crisp.i would say what my lovely wife said... Read more.
Fantastic. Tell me the psychology of the experience for you - the pain of it versus expectation. Did you feel a victory when complete. The pleasure / pain part sort of a controlled labor of love post surgery. In a way, for me, it is like a "F-you" to the... Read more.
I'm not a tattoo person but it's a great one! รฐลธโ€˜ย
Thanks, it's more of a badge of honor for my experience. (& Yes, this is a sensitive area for such a needle)
That's very cool. I've always wanted to get on, but it wasn't recommended with blood thinners.

It's been a while since I checked in, but this coming Tuesday marks my 6 month anniversary of OHS (bicuspid aortic valve replacement) from The Cleveland Clinic & Dr Roselli. All of my pre-op symptoms are gone and my scar continues to heal up nicely. I'm still working on my... Read more.

Thank you for sharing - the upper chest sensations are shared by me - just this evening I was feeling it, too.... We're forever changed by this experience !
That "scar" looks really good and looks very short. You won't be able to brag about your OHS showing your chest...๐Ÿ˜‰ I still have some spasms here and there 2 years after OHS. I suspect it will never go away but at least in my case it's not a big... Read more.
Thats a better looking scar than my minimally invasive. Did you use vanishing cream ? I got a spasm the other day after 4 years but i unpluged the toaster with my hands wet so it could be that.
I haven't used any creams, that healing has all been on its own.
Wow, you are a healer. Its almost gone. You must eat healthy. My brother in laws scar from 10 years ago looks like he fought a saber toothed tiger. And lost.
Some people naturally scar well. Chest hair can help. Cogratulations Geoff!
Scar looks great Geoff! Richard, you are cracking me up today.
Wow, Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm almost a year after surgery and it still has some redness. It is slowly improving. It doesnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt bother me, though.
Looks amazing! I had Dr. Roselli too. Honestly, I didn't care about the scar just wanted to be alive but one perk was the very small scarโค๏ธ
We are all very fortunate! This surgery has improved leaps and bounds. I don't care about the scar either & glad I get to be on the other side of this...have a great day & Easter!
