After one year of aortic valve replacement surgery (with tissue valve), I still find my heart rate is at high 80s and low 90s. I am on 10 mg inderal but have to take it everyday to keep the heart rate down. Wondering the reason why and curious if anyone... Read more.

I think that a high heart rate is one of the after-effects of OHS. Betablockers can make the heart beat more slowly, but for some patients, the heart will always beat faster after OHS. I am trying to get accustomed to my fast beating heart, as my doctor has said... Read more.
Yes, Rita, with a Beta Blocker I take daily my HR is 80-84 at rest. Without the drug it was 118 at rest. Surgeon and Cardiologist both said HR in 80s was okay. Yeah, for them, but I dislike that! Oh well😐

A picture from April 10th. It was one and a half months post op. I am 4 months post op now. A reminder to myself that it has been a long way and feel grateful with my recovery :)
