Sherry - i wish I could tell you that recovery is easy, but each day can bring on different physical or emotional challenges. At the same time, there are good days when all of it seems like a strange dream. It does get better - you'll notice a difference in just a few weeks. Your positive outlook will return and gratitude will be redefined going forward. Keep looking ahead - find one good thing to appreciate every day and most of all, remind yourself that this is temporary. Wishing you all the best! ❤

So glad to hear from you Sherry and your right this is a great place to come for encouragement and support and share what is on your mind. OHS is a huge event in our lives and finding our way through can be challenging and rewarding all at the same time. It is different for each of us because we are all uniquely made different right down to our finger prints no two are the same. So know that your journey will be unique to you and don’t be too hard on yourself. For me I try to stay positive and focus on the good but I also allow myself the time and space to acknowledge the downs also. I have had a couple of good crying spells getting out all the stuff I don’t know what to do with and then move on. At first in recovery I took it hour by hour now I am on to day by day. We are here for you and know you are not alone. You are in my prayers.

Being home is a blessing. For me it was “I survived”. We are all different and the recovery is also different. I hope you remain faithful and have a good attitude. Hang in there every day is a new experience and sometimes it’s scary and sometimes great. It’s one day at a time and as one of warriors said “this too shall pass”. God bless you

Hey Sherry some parts of recovery can be rough. And your faith can be shaken and tested. I also had a rough time in the hospital. I got C Diff and had the surgeons telling me they may need to remove my colon. Also had heart block twice which caused me to get a pacemaker. Spent 16 days in the hospital and felt tested a few times. Hang in there and things will get better. 2 months after I was told I dont even need my pacemaker anymore. It took some time but I am back in the gym 5 days a week. Play volleyball and golf. Keep your head up and your faith strong and know it will be better soon.

Sherry - That's rough when you're rescheduled. It has happened to several people on this site. I can only imagine what the transplant patient is going through and the family of the donor. Sometimes life has a way of reminding us that so many people have it worse than we do. You've got the right attitude - everything happens for a reason. You just need to wait a few more days to join the recovery club! We'll be here to welcome you. ❤

Hi Sherry. I understand the disappointment and you seem to have taken it all in stride. My surgery was also postponed due to an emergency. I'll have to admit I didnt take it quite so well. I cried almost all day. I finally came to grips with it and had the thought that God knows what he is doing. Best wishes for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery.
