At almost 2 months post mitral & tricuspid repair, I suddenly have intermittent low heart rate around 40-42. In response, the cardiologist took me off metoprolol, kept me on 12.5 mg Losartan for post-op high blood pressure, and taped a heart monitor to me last Thursday for a 7 day... Read more.

J Alexander, my heart rate is still in the 100’s, but sometimes into 90’s at rest. I’m now 3 months post op and will have an echocardiogram tomorrow in Denver. I am doing rehab 3 times a week and it is so helpful! I have another month to go.

I am just 6 months post mitral valve replacement with a sternotomy. Dawn - 3 weeks is kind of a turning point for more independence and ability to do more, and if you do not have sternal precautions from minimally invasive, then you may be okay to be solo.
I was pretty perky after minimally after 3 weeks. I say visit his mother.
Dawn, after minimally invasive repair I could live at home without major problem as soon as discharged.
