Are you kidding?!$&@!. It’s life and mind altering. As for the bruise, it’s probably getting bigger, because of gravity. The released blood slowly “spreads out” and dissipates. (That said, if it is getting more swollen, see your doctor.)

Paige - I had bypass done through my femoral artery, too. I had a big lump and huge bruise at the entry site. I was concerned and asked the nurse about it. I was told they would both go away and they did, but it did take awhile. If you're concerned, put a call into your surgeon and ask. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

THANK YOU ALL! Lisa That has always been a big fear of mine. i think everyones really. The percent of any "Major" complications for my surgery was 2% While that is relatively low, The percent of the population with my specific disease is about % which is low. You never think you will be that % until you are. Its crazy to think going in Very positive, seeing th OR making comparisons to Grey's Anatomy, then...nothing. I woke up and remember being in pain and getting the updates about surgery and to hear that i would have never known all that could have been lost... there are no words! BUT I MADE IT!!! There will always be those fears and its normal. They are valid fears. It gives life a new perspective. Definitely makes me want to care for my body better! Life is good and Im so happy God opend my eyes! I pray for all you fellow Heart Warriors!
