Day to day it's very hard to measure progress, so I like to think about week to week. During first week home for the first few days I felt groggy, unstable on my feet, but walking 10 minutes, then 15 then 20 at the end of the week (twice each... Read more.

Keep up the good fight, Mike. It definitely is an adjustment from day to day. Figure out your limits and your triggers and try to minimize those. For me, during the first week or two, it was standing up too quickly or turning too fast. You got this.
It was five months before I golfed. I did ok but was terribly sore thr next day. Tou sound like you are doing pretty good. God bless you. May you have more good recovery days.
I remember my first morning home, I got up, took a shower, got dressed, and then felt like I needed to lie down. I was quite anemic at that point, hemoglobin down from 16 to 9, due to surgical blood loss. That anemia fixes itself constantly throughout the first month.

Praise God you are on the other side. Such a true testament on the process. At times recovery can seem overwhelming. Make sure to take one moment at a time and allow your loving wife to worry about the details.
Awesome Mike! Keep up the great work. Also thank you Karen for all you are doing for Mike! To God be the glory!

It’s been a long week. I came out of surgery on Monday afternoon delirious and looking into Karen’s eyes. First thought...I’m alive. Lol Slept most of the day and evening. Tuesday I was doing well, even walked a little. So they moved me from ICU to a regular room. On... Read more.
HI Michael, I see you had to battle through a few issues but it seems you are making good progress now. Tubes and pacemaker wires gone - is a sign of making good progress and heading home
I'm so sorry to hear this. I fully understand having complications as I had my share. But thank God you had issues while still in the hospital. I'm glad they were able to stabilize you and you seem to be on the right track. May God bless you
Michael - Sorry to hear you had a complication. Hopefully, that'll be the last one and you'll be out of the hospital on Sunday. Welcome to recovery - every day is a step closer to getting back to your active, wonderful life! You did it!
