Send Jared a NoteAbout Me
I'm a 43-year old male with no symptoms. I am active, but not as much as I’d like to be. I played ice hockey, coached my kids soccer teams, rode my bike, and went for walks.
On 3/17/20, I went to see my primary care doctor as I could hear some weird crackling noises when I fully exhaled. This was the first time someone ever told me that I had a heart murmur and I go to the doctor regularly. Due to COVID-19, I did a video chat with a cardiologist on 3/27/20. He sent in an order for an echocardiogram, which I delayed until 6/29/20 due to COVID-19. I was diagnosed with severe mitral valve regurgitation with a moderate prolapse of the posterior leaflet. My EF was 60% and my left atrium was markedly dilated.
I met with the surgeon on 7/29/20 to discuss what needs to be done. I'm looking at minimally-invasive, robot-assisted mitral valve repair surgery on 8/28/20.
