Dr. Johnston replaced my aorta valve with an Inspiris Resilia Biological valve and my ascending aorta with a Gelweave Prosthetic Aorta Graft at Cleveland Clinic. I had a couple of issues with low blood pressure and one episode with atrial fib that kept me in ICU for a total of 3 days, but I was still in good enough shape to be discharged after 5 days. I am pleased to say that I am progressing along the road to recovery. Dr. Johnston, his team and all of the nurses at Cleveland Clinic were very professional and responsive to my needs during my entire stay. I had minimal sternum pain and did not require pain meds after I left ICU. I have been recovering at home for almost 2 weeks now and can do most items I could before the surgery with weight restrictions. My thanks go out to Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Johnston for a job well done!!!
