Send Timothy a NoteAbout Me
About 2 years ago had a physical exam. PCP noticed a sound through the stethoscope. Referred me to Dr Thomas Jordan out of Northside Heart. They noticed on Echo my valve was bicuspid and that it was stenotic. My doctor told me they would monitor my heart yearly. I also did a stress test originally. I recently did an Echo and my results were severe aortic stenosis. Dr. Jordan had me do a TEE where they put a scope down your esophagus to see your heart. This confirmed the severe stenosis. I was then referred to Emory/St Joseph's cardio surgeon Dr. Steven Macheers. I talked to him for some time about what he thought I should do and came out that since I 'am 39 years old and in good shape that a mechanical valve (On-x) would be best. I 'am now getting closer to surgery since I'm starting to get more dizzy, which is why I'm doing the surgery now. Also, I did a heart catheterization a week ago that came up clear of blockages but measured severe stenosis of aortic valve. I have type 1 diabetes and ocular myasthenia gravis.
