Hi guys, today is my first valversary! 😁 I can confidently say those sacred words "I feel better than before the surgery". My recovery was a bit longer and stalled by three little kiddies. I didn't have many symptoms to begin with but I am cycling now, 3 times per week for an hour and it feels just right. I am trying to take it easy, breathe, reduce unnecessary stress and put sleep first. Sleep disturbance is my biggest symptom trigger. I am always anxious about my next echo, but I guess that's something we heart warriors must learn to live with. Huge thanks to Adam and this wonderful and funny community for being there for me. Can't imagine going through all of that without your help and support.

Dear friends, just had another echo 7 months post-op. My heart chambers are back to normal size, which made my eyes teary. I have residual mitral regurgitation gr. 1-2+ (hence the murmur) and that is it. EF is back to 61%, was 55 after surgery and 60 before the surgery I think. Doc says my repair can last up to 20 years, but since I am so young, another surgery surely is in my future. I am so so happy and thankful. This was some journey and it made my life better. Hello my dear friends, heart warriors. I just had my 6 months echo to address the slight worsening of remaining post-surgery mitral regurgitation. The professor wasn't stressed about it, she said they see this situation from time to time and that I should just have a yearly echo. This situation could stay the same, but it could also progress. Noone knows the future. It was hard to get the leaflets in line during the surgery so she wasn't surprised by the remaining regurgitation. Little murmur heard, but she wasn't stressed. The reality is here, I accepted it. I will ask another opinion in April (third one, haha), but I am almost sure they will say the same. This surgery gave me so much, another perspective in life, gift of gratitude for every moment, it made me stronger mentally and now more and more - physically, it gave me friends here on this site which is invaluable. I choose acceptance and gratitude and will try my best to relax and enjoy life. I work, my kiddies and growing, I have so much plans and don't look much further in future, I am afraid what's behind that curtain so I am living in the moment haha. Keep on ticking.
