I was told many years ago that I had a murmur but I managed to go about 68 years with no medical treatments and no family doctor so it was never something I thought much about. Several months of undiagnosed endocarditis late 2019 / early 2020 landed me in the hospital for the first time in my life and started my journey towards (hopefully) valve repair. My repair was successfully accomplished at the Cleveland Clinic by Dr. Gillinov on 11/18/21 and I am recovering well.
