I am celebrating 5 years after the aortic valve replacement at Providence St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland, Oregon with Dr. Julia Swanson. At the end of 2017 and 9 months after AVR surgery, I returned to my maiden name. It was a good decision that helped my healing considerably and my divorce recovery transformation. It also was very time-consuming, tedious, and expensive to change my records. But it felt great overall.

Congratulations. I went back to my maiden name once my kids were older and it was the greatest feeling. I got remarried 30 years later to a wonderful man and I kept my maiden name. Never giving it up again.
