Well it has been a little over 3 weeks since my AVR...finally feeling more like myself ....it was a slow recovery for me..all I wanted to do is sleep ..I did listen to my body and do what it required..less and less napping needed...Going to get out of the house... Read more.
It is unreal that you both have to go through this one after the other! Hope you continue to feel stronger and stronger, Deborah!

Hello everyone....well it has been 12 dates post op and 1 week back home and all is well...finally feeling like things are moving forward...ups and down but more ups...so glad that the worst is behind me and look forward to feeling like my new and improved self.. Thank goodness there... Read more.

Congratulations, Deborah!!! I'm 15 days post-op; isn't it great to be able to recuperate at home??? I wish you a steady recovery, and a long, happy life with your new heart!!!

well the countdown is on...keeping busy until thurs when i will have all of my remaining pre-op testing completed then Fri morning I report to the hospital at 11 am for a 1pm surgery...having moments of being very emotional and weepy with my kids and grandchildren...I guess that is normal..can't... I am 7 days out of my AVR and aneurysm repair and I am still occasionally weepy. It can take a while to get to your new normal...Don't be hard on yourself!
We are all praying for you, Deborah. My surgery is scheduled for the 10th. Did your surgeon mention anything about the ascending root, as I hear this is common with a bicuspid valve?
Deborah I love Cathleens comment about enjoying your grandchildren even more, I had my avr 18 weeks ago and I feel I have so much more energy and vitality in the last 2 months, it didn't happen overnight at 72 I expected that, just finished cardiovascular rehab phase1 it's normal... Read more.
