Six days post surgery and feeling really well! No pain, just uncomfortable due to chest bruising. I can handle that! My surgery (Monday, June 12th) went smoothly and was uneventful - Dr. Geoffrey Answini (Christ Hospital in Cincinnati) and staff were amazing! I could not have had a better team!!!... Read more.

I am a 59 year old that found out I had a bicuspid valve four years ago. The Doctor that was doing my colonoscopy at that time heard a heart murmur and sent me to a cardiologist. It is now time for surgery to replace my valve and I'm scared.... Read more.

Prayer and a positive attitude helps you get through it. Seriously though, plan for the best, but not it may be take some time to get back to "normal." I was 55 when I had mine done.

I had my bicuspid valve and ascending aneurysm replaced 9 weeks ago. It was very scarey in the beginning, but take it one step at a time and you will get through it. You will find a lot of good information on this site.
