They are healing up good. Which incision did your Surgeon go into to repair your Mitral Valve. I've had mine repaired but full sternum.

Awesome David - they healed well. I had a mini thoracotomy mitral repair & I have a 4 1/2" across the top of my breast plus all the other lil ones (not to forget the 4" scare in my groin). Not complaining - just jealous - lol .... I'm am... Read more.

The LEAR Technique, or Robotic Assisted Minimal Invasive Mitral Valve repair video is from St. Joseph's Hospital Atlanta GA. Contains operation graphics. Do not watch after eating... This is amazing. I will be having a mitral valve repair done very soon. I have a partially blocked LAD artery that needs to be repaired at the same time. I was initially told that the two repairs couldn't be done with the robotic assisted approach. I wonder if anybody... Read more.
Not certain about robotic approach, but the LAD is a coronary artery and is on the surface of the heart whereas the valve is inside. Just go to the best hospital and best doc you can and you'll be fine.

Six days after Minimal invasive Robot Mitral Valve repair - Going home! Standing by my "new buddy" the Davinci Robot :) Thank you Dr. J. Michael Smith and the whole team at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati Ohio!

How is your pain? I'm going minimally invasive, just not robotically. Glad to hear you are doing so well!
That is so cool that you got your picture taken by the robotic machine. Best of luck in your recovery - you look like you're already well on your way.
