I’m having surgery to replace my aortic valve this Friday, 4/12/24…and I’m extremely anxious - not just about the surgery but also post-op recovery. I’m praying all goes well and hoping I can handle it. Thank you for reading.

Belinda, I'm sorry you have to have OHS. Try to focus on the fact that the odds are in your favor for a positive outcome. Recovery is hard work. My advice to you is to listen to your doctors, follow their instructions and take your time in recovering. God bless... Read more.
Very normal to be nervous and have a range of emotions before the event. My two cents is to embrace the moment - watch and observe all happenings before. It is like a symphony! Then, know that surgery is super safe nowadays. Recovery will happen.
You are going to do amazing! Remember… one day at a time, and do not try n do too much too soon.!
I had both Aortic and mitral valves replaced with pig valves I wouldn't recommend mechanical
Tomorrow will pass in a blur. The next thing you know, you'll be on the other side of surger. Be honest and vocal about your mental health with your care team.
We did it, you can, too! Enjoy the quick nap and listen to the nurses - you'll be fine! Think only positive thoughts - we become what we think about! ❤️

Hi, Tim. I’m holding you to it…about surgery not being a big deal. I, too, have chosen to go with a tissue valve.
Love your unique take on this surgery, J Alexander. “Embrace the moment - and to watch and observe all that’s taking place prior to the event and that it’s like a symphony.” Appreciate the reminder that surgery is pretty safe nowadays. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I appreciate your positive energy and thoughts Susan Lynn. I feel I’m in good company!
Thank you, Yumiko! I’ll remember to do my Heart Breathing.
Will add you to my Prayers tomorrow! 😊🙏
