Quietly celebrated four years yesterday since mitral valve repair. I'm doing well, although under stress I feel soreness in the heart area. Will be having an echocardiogram checkup in about a week. Last year the cardiologist eliminated some medication so all I take now is metoprolol and aspirin. We'll see... Read more.
I, too, retired to Arizona. I'm in Tucson. My mitral valve repair was last October and I've already been hiking several times. Allergies this year are horrible! Enjoy your new life!
I live in Tucson AZ. I have mitral valve prolapse with significant regurgitation. Luckily I have no symptoms. My cardiologist for the past 8 years has been Timothy Marshall MD, FACC. 520-298-7900. Marshall Cardiology http://www.marshallcardiology.com/ We checked with our PCP before I went to Dr. Marshall and were told that... Read more.

I'm curious as to how some of you discovered this site before you had heart surgery. Mine was a kind of emergency, and I did not find out about this site until long afterward. I have a check-up with my cardiologist Monday, April 6, about 23 months after surgery.

So happy I came aboard -- the members of this group are comforting, inspiring, educational, and even entertaining. (Thank you Duane Beeman for your funny ad libs... Read more.
A goggle search lead me to this site, and I am happy I joined, learned and got to know so many strong motivated positive folks!

Will be moving from Montana to Sierra Vista (an hour from Tucson), AZ, in July. How does one go about finding a new cardiologist, etc.? Any recommendations?
Wow - going from cold to hot, huh? It's not easy finding the best docs, but I'd start first with those associated with the biggest hospitals, probably also the largest practices. Then, I look at where they were educated. You can also check for any malpractice issues by web search... Read more.
I live in Sierra Vista but my cardiologist is in Tucson. I didn't care for the one cardiologist I saw here in town so I switched to Tucson. My cardiologist's name is Dr. John Boulet, phone number (520) 624-8935. P.S. Welcome to Sierra Vista!
