A Close-up of the back of my medical alert necklace with my information. I really like it because it somewhat covers my scar, plus it doesn't look like a medical alert id. The company is RoadID.
Thanks, Andria! You will be in my prayers tomorrow during your surgery. You'll be on the other side and recovering soon!
Is that something that all heart patients wear or is it from something else?
It's because of my heart, but isn't required. I just wanted to be sure I had some id that I could wear if something were to happen and I couldn't speak for myself. I outlined the info I included in a reply to Civita in the previous picture. Hope this... Read more.

My RoadID Medical Alert Necklace
👍 Phyllis Petersen reacted to this
I don't know if it's absolutely necessary, but I wanted to have one just in case I can't speak for myself... Mine includes my name, year of birth, city where I live, info on my surgery, allergy info, medications, and my husband's name and phone number in case of an... Read more.
Civita, in terms of it being necessary, I would think it more important if you're on Coumadin, rather than the AVR.

That scar looks pretty good for only 2 weeks out. Your surgeon did a good job!
Civita- I read your story and it sounds a lot like mine except I've known about my bicuspid aortic valve as long as I can remember. I too am not an serious athlete, but have always been active and worked out. I've done an online boot camp workout for the... Read more.
Ruth - Thanks. The scar really seems to be healing well. I'm just waiting for the ok from the surgeon so I can start using some essential oils to help the rest of the healing and minimize the scar.
You are looking great - a few more weeks and you will not even think about your surgery. Go and enjoy your new energy level and ability to work out without restrictions.
