Hey again, iâ€™m also scheduled for SMGH! Dr Higgins, SVAR, (tissue), Iâ€™m way to active even at 66 to slow down and worry about clotting and blood thinning issues, testing stole, bleeding out etc. From diagnosis to OR time frame? Elaborate on your ICU and recovery of you would? best

Hi Gary. I had a bicuspid valve and an aneurysm so I was tracked for a number of years. I had the Ross procedure and aneurysm repair with Dr. Ashe. I was in the CICU for 4.5 days and then 3 West for 4.5 more. Normal time for a Ross.... Read more.

Very happy to read your recovery 5 months out is allowing you to be active and near a full return to where if appears to want to be at. did you have an angiogram as a first procedure? cheers gary

Hi Gary, not sure how I missed this. I had several angiograms over the years, and did have that as well as CT Scan and Echo right before surgery to double check everything. Where do things stand for you? Have you had the surgery, or when are you going in?... Read more.

I would like to ask, if I insist on choosing the Ross procedure in Canada, will I have to wait for a long time? Will the doctor say that pulmonary valve is scarce? Given my young age, will I miss the opportunity for surgery and be given a mechanical valve... Read more.

Hi There. I'm not sure of the right answer here. If you have a surgeon who is skilled in the Ross, working at a hospital that is high volume, and they think you are a good candidate, I would not expect you to have to wait longer as it's what... Read more.
