Almost 6 moths ago I received a OnX Mechanical valve at Mayo in Rochester, MN. I’m delighted to report I’m feeling great! Warfarin is required but not a big deal, just received my in home INR unit so testing moving forward should be much simpler and quicker. Been riding bicycle... Read more.

How many out there sport an OnX mechanic valve? I was set on tissue but don’t want to repeat this event in 5-10 years. I’m told the INR management is not that difficult with in home equipment, once stable. Any Thoughts?

I have 2 mechanical valves (that are not OnX). INR management takes getting used to (as does having OHS). Your levels go up and down for awhile and it can be stressful. I have had my mechanical valves for 6 years and taking coumadin once a day and testing my... Read more.
