Just shy of 6 weeks out for Aortic valve-sparing root replacement and a single bypass LIMA-LAD. I can definitely say that my energy is getting better with the occasional nap in the afternoon. Walking more each day. For those that are up for surgery, you will do great!

Update for 8/30 surgery, or sooner if I decided after my angiogram and finding out about my LAD 80-90% blocked. Met with my surgeon yesterday to discuss the details and below is the plan. Sounds like you have the ball rolling. Will the doc try to repair the bicuspid valve, possibly replace, or leave it be?
Marie, it's my understanding that there is nothing wrong with my BAV, at least in testing. I know that things can change when they are performing surgery. In that case, it will be a bovine valve unless I change my mind day of and go with mechanical.

With Michael mercier (https://www.heart-valve-surgery.com/journals/mystory/michaelmercier) post about second opinion has got me thinking that I probably should as well, especially since the thoracic surgeon I was referred to is semi-retired now. Anyone here in Colorado, preferably the Metro Denver area?
