Hello all, I’m Mary (37) brand new here. Happy Hearts Day! Today I found out that 3 years ago (Jan 2022) I had an Echocardiogram with findings of a Quadricuspid Aortic Valve (QAR). I found this as I gained access through my provincial health app (Alberta, Can) and was curious what results I could see for myself. I suppose I was lucky enough to take Anatomy in university and when I noticed the wording of Quad with aorta I knew something wasn’t quite right. There was no highlighted areas in the report so I suppose the neurologist that ordered the imaging missed the diagnosis of ‘incidental’ finding of Quadricuspid Aortic Valve. I called asap for an appointment with my GP, and have one next week so I assume I will have some repeat testing to see if these results are accurate and maybe even see a cardiologist(I’ve never been)… because I have questions! A quick google search and some medical journals later I think I had a better chance of winning the lotto. So, if the test from 3 years ago is correct I suppose I’ll be on quite the journey. So happy to have come across this group today!
