I’m home! Surgery went very well. 2 hours, and the surgeon said it was a “textbook” repair. I had a lot of nausea coming out of anesthesia which set me back a bit, dealing with dehydration and trying to find the right balances of medication. All in all, great experience... Read more.

Heading to UTSW today for pre-op testing! Actually glad it’s all finally happening. My mom will accompany me today. She received a Mitral Valve repair from the legendary Dr. Bruce Lytle at Cleveland Clinic 7 years ago via her sternum. Turns out this thing is hereditary! I’m so happy to... Read more.

I just completed my pre-op testing this morning. Very uneventful, now the wait. Wishing you the best, and a speedy recovery. Stay strong and keep a positive outlook.

Best of luck. I'm sure you'll do great. This is the hardest part. I still can't believe I went and had OHS. The anxiety and fear are normal but you'll be fine. These Teams know what they're doing. In a month you'll be like. I did all that worrying for... Read more.
