Hi, it’s cathy. Here is Jeff at the post op checkup with his surgeon, Dr Balkhy. Everything is going great and Jeff is back to all normal activities! For anyone investigating types of surgery, based on our experience I would 100% recommend doing robotic minimally invasive. Jeff’s surgery was a mitral valve repair - he was released the next day and has had minimal pain. I know not everybody is a candidate, but if you are it’s the way to go! Dr. Balkhy is a rockstar in my eyes, and his whole team at University of Chicago Medicine is the best, most professional group we could have ever imagined. I am truly so grateful that we found such a skilled surgeon. Once again thank you to Adam for creating this site full of resources for heart patients!
