If someone had told me I would feel this good and be already doing this much, I would have felt a lot better about open heart surgery. You who are barely out OR those who haven't started the process....you can do this! Don't worry too much and just take each... Read more.
That is great news Elaine! I still remember my first month recovery and the first time I got dressed back in business clothes for my first work event post surgery! After conquering OHS I also felt motivated to improve my nutrition and diet and it is well worth it! Keep... Read more.
Wonderful update Elaine. Thank you for the encouragement. I'm going into surgery in just a few days, and I wish I could stop worrying about that breathing tube I hear is so unpleasant. Thanks for the reminder of the big picture, and that discomfort is usually temporary.
Yes Elaine thank you for the encouragement. I'm scheduled in April and worry everyday of what is to come. I worry that I will be worse than when I went in. Kathy, I'm having some of those same feelings as well, before the surgery. Do I really want to go... Read more.

Two weeks to the day after my first surgery, I arrived at cardiac rehab. This place was bustling with smiling faces of patients, nurses, and support team. After check-in, I had my weigh in (wait a minute---without the water pills, those three pounds plus a day I was losing are... Read more.

Love! Cardiac rehab was the best thing I ever did following surgery. Sounds like you are doing well!
I had a great experience with cardiac rehab. I agree with Shannon; best thing I ever did. I was athletic before my MVR but this experience actually changed the way I work out!
