Hey friends! Here is a little life update. I'm a little over 10 weeks post-op. I have been staying active, eating pretty well. I am close to pain free with some occasional minor aches and pains in my right ribs near where my mini-avr site was. To help others in... Read more.

Yes, this is science fiction compared to my recovery, but well done to you, this sounds amazing. Take care.
Congratulations Andy, it all sounds great. Continued good health and God bless you
Wow! At 10 weeks I agree with Klara, science fiction. So glad you are doing so well!
Great job Andy! Glad to hear you are feeling so well. I like your slow yoga suggestion. I don't have an Apple but hopefully can find something similar on Android
Hi Andy. Sounds like you are doing well! I understand your statement about feeling younger. I feel the same way.
Great post Andy! Super happy for you. I applaud your mindset, focus and being proactive in your recovery. Thanks for sharing with us 🙏
Bro you are an inspiration to many 🙏🏼 thank you for sharing
Thanks everyone! Klara and Pamela, I was pretty active leading up to my surgery so I attribute my "science fiction" recovery to that. :) Klara, I saw a while back you were out doing some cycling. I hope you can keep it up and find the time to take for... Read more.
Excellent to hear you're doing so well. Nice to keep the fitness activities interesting. I should get in on that yoga probably.

Friends I have a question! Because my surgery was mini and my fitness level before was not bad I was given the option by my team to not do Cardio Rehab... In my case this was financially best because of how my insurance bills it and because the expense of... Read more.
Technically rehab started in the hospital, I had physio come and get me up walking...everytime my family came...I said lets walk. I went once a week to cardiac rehad after discharge...I had to wait a month or so til the next class..it involved lessons..ie diet and what to expect post... Read more.
Thanks Stephen. I am walking everyday usually a few miles. I am an active runner so I'll be gradually getting my heart rate back up. I actually just joined the YMCA so I could start doing some lap swimming.
Great to hear. I guess cause my valve replacement was due to the sepsis infection, it had done alot of damage to the heart. I was fairly active before as well, playing hockey and baseball. But I can tell you, when I woke up after surgery, I couldn't walk to... Read more.

First post-op short run... followed by 2 miles of brisk walking. I felt like a noob the whole way but it was good to test it out. I felt like it was harder to manage my breathing today than before the surgery but I'm only 5 weeks post-op. I know... Read more.
Nice to hear you're able to jog a bit. Try not to over do it and just push it to the point rehab or doctor suggests especially early on.
I would be happy to feel like a noob everyday if I could run a mile with that time😊
Way to go Andy. You are doing great! I'm not sure what a noob is by I'm probably one. 😊
Take it easy Andy, your body is still healing. It is hard to find a nice balance between testing yourself and pushing too hard. Just be careful. You are doing great. Things will improve with time.
Impressive Andy, but definitely take it easy. So glad you are feeling so good!
So yeah, I did start back a little too early and I have listened to you all and you good advice to take it a bit slower. I was not recommended to Cardiac Rehab for a few reasons so the timelines on getting back to running were a bit blurry.... Read more.
