I'm sitting here tonight thinking about how last year on a Wednesday February the 17th I was in a ICU recovering from having open heart surgery earlier that day. I can't believe Friday will be a year.

I started work back Monday. The first day wasn't bad all I did was get caught up on some computer test but Tuesday and today have been rough to say the least! I work hospice and before my surgery I would see 8-10 patients a day today I saw 3... Read more.

Were you able to do cardiac rehab at all? I am hoping that will give me some strength back because I've lost muscle strength big time. Sorry to hear your transition back has been rough. Is there any way to do something more clerical within hospice, more on the paperwork... Read more.

Whitney, bless you for your hospice work. Are you able to afford cardiac rehab? I know that sometimes finances require folks to get back to work ASAP, and that means foregoing optimal recovery time. You are in my prayers!

It does take awhile (months) to get your strength back, cardio rehab or no cardio rehab. Going back to work is a slow process. It's a good idea to start part time for example if you can. 3 patients is an okay start for your first week. You will improve.... Read more.
