I'm sitting here tonight thinking about how last year on a Wednesday February the 17th I was in a ICU recovering from having open heart surgery earlier that day. I can't believe Friday will be a year.

I was 3 weeks post-op on Wednesday!! I'm pretty proud of how my incision looks! And except for the coughing and a pounding heart beat every so often I'm feeling pretty good! I can't believe how far you can come in just three weeks. After surgery I thought

You look good. My scar is still way more prominent at 2 years....glad you are doing well.

Whitney your scar looks similar to mine! I have a pounding heart beat a lot of the time, too. I also have a resting heart rate in the mid 90's. I was told it was because I'm anemic. And as my hematocrit goes up my heart rate will come down.... Read more.
Gail, I've been coughing up stuff since my surgery. I guess that's normal? I hope it goes away soon cause it sure does make my chest sore.
