I went to Cleveland for a year after surgery check up and found that I have something built up on my new valve. They do not know what it is. The valve is also narrowed mild to moderately, and has a slight regurgitation. Has anyone had this happen to them... Read more.

I think it depends on how bad the stenosis is, and if you are having any symptoms. What did the doc say about it?
I have no symptoms at all, other than a very high eosinophil level that showed up on my CBC just recently. Does it not seem unusual to have this happen to a one-year old valve? He said it is not as bad as it was before I had surgery.
Yes, I would be very disappointed that it has only been a year. Did he mention any possible causes? The high eosinophil count can be caused by many things such as allergies, asthma, infections, worms, heredity, and auto immune diseases. Do you have a doctor working on your puzzling eosinophil count?... Read more.
Wow, I wouldn't like hearing that news in just a year. What did the doctor say, wait another year for another echo?
Which valve is it? This would be so disappointing! Hugs!
I agree a year is disappointing. Is it a bio or mechanical valve?
That's very puzzling. I'm sorry you received this news so recently after your replacement. Please keep us posted. ❤️
I had a bicuspid aortic valve replaced with a bio-prosthetic valve in August of 2023. Now just over a year later have the disappointing news of narrowing of the valve and a slight regurgitation. My cardiologist said it is unexpected news. He did not suggest what the build-up on the... Read more.

I am 2 1/2 weeks out from having my aortic valve replacement. In that time I have had 4 episodes of AFib lasting from 12 hours to 33 hours. I am currently experiencing an episode that has thus far lasted for 9 1/2 hours. Thankfully I don’t get any symptoms... Read more.
Afib is a common aftereffect of heart surgery. About half of patients get it but it often goes away in a few weeks. I'm sure that you have discussed it with your doctor who can explain more. Sometimes it goes away, sometimes it's treated with medication, sometimes one has procedures... Read more.
I posted to you but it’s not showing up. I had mitral valve repair on 8/29. I went into AFib about 5 days later and so far they’ve really been unable to stop it. They finally let me go home today and I will work on the rhythm and heart... Read more.
I had Afib after my surgery in 2017 and it lasted off and on between Afib and Aflutter for about six weeks. Hope yours goes away soon.
Were you on meds or did it just resolve on its own?
Mine, I was on Amiodarone and Metrolpol in fairly high doses.
Oh ok. Thank you. I am on those as well. Hoping it goes back to normal soon.
