2 questions for those of you with aortic valve replacements. I’m 2 years post.
1. I have a porcine valve. Hoping for 10-12 years at least. Anyone go that long or longer?
2. I’ve only needed a baby aspirin, but my last ekg showed an extra heart beat and so... Read more.
I did have some PVCs about 1 years after surgery but it was corrected with medicine. I can't answer the question on the valve. I think there are a lot of variables.
I had PACs about two years after mitral valve surgery. Unfortunately, I'm on extended release metoprolol. ❤️
I am now about 2 yrs out. My surgeries gave me some damage, so PVCs are a problem. But...I have found that drinking a LOT of water really helps a ton! I was having them bad, like every 4th beat, a couple days ago. Had let my water intake slip.... Read more.

the water tip helped. PVCs are infrequent enough and my BP is low enough that my doctor thinks I don’t need them for now. My Pvs are happening about 7% of the time. Feels weird, but not bothersome.
That's great news!! They also come and go too. Mine have gone away for now.

Question for all of you who had a sternotomy souvenir pillow: What did you do with it afterwards? Trying to come up with a creative year 1 ending for it as I just found it in the back of my car
I'm going to put mine in my office.
