Having (2) valve replacements and ablation on 1/10/24 at Mayo in Rochester, MN. Anxiety kicking in. Anyone else experience this a week prior to surgery? And btw, Happy New Year! ðŸŽ‰ðŸ¥³. Letâ€™s all have a heart healthy 2024!!!!

Yes! But the night before, somehow I calmed down. Itâ€™s that feeling that the train is moving down the track with you on it, and thereâ€™s nothing to do but ride along. Youâ€™re going to Mayo. Iâ€™m sure your surgical team is absolutely top notch!

Of course! There is much pre-surgery anxiety. So normal, as you go into something you can't control. I'm with Susan and Jennifer- anxiety leading up to the date, but pretty calm and centered when I woke up at 4AM and headed for the hospital.

Oh heck yeah I had anxiety leading up to heart surgery. I used calming UTube videos and meditations to help me throughâ€¦

Happy new year!! Youâ€™re not alone. Iâ€™m 2 months away and Iâ€™m already very nervous! Try to dedicate some time to breathing exercises, light stretching, and drink relaxing herbal teas throughout the day.

I am so thankful I came across this community and all its info. I feel much more prepared and less anxious for my surgery in January. Thanks to all who have made this site available
