I had a colonoscopy on 08/30/18, per my Cardiologist instructions, stopped Warfarin 7 days prior procedure, I started Lovenox (injection) 7 days prior colonoscopy (morning and evening), and the day before only 1 shot in the morning. Zero Lovenox on the procedure day and the next day resume both, Warfarin as always and Lovenox 2 shots (morning and evening) for 7 days agter ptocedure. Everything went well! Dont be afraid. Call your Cardiologist he should ne able to give you instructions and the prescription for the Lovenox as well! I wish u well! I also check my coagulation levels at home every 2 weeks!

I had to stop warfarin and do Lovenox for a breast biopsy. I was really frustrated because I keep my INR super low anyway, and it really seemed much more trouble than it was worth. I'll consult my cardiologist and Coumidin Nurse before I do that again. I did very very very poorly with the shots. Meredith Holiday, FL

I watched a You tube video to improve my technique inyecting myself the Lovenox, that helped me a lot! Don’t grab your stomach and pinch, that will cause bruising, is less painful but I preferred the method pinching without grabbing the skin and just simply push inyection into your belly, its a little bit more painful but hey NO BRUISES! Win!
