When diagnosed with bicuspid regurg or stenosis. Do you always get a CTA scan?
I only had an echco.
or is aortic root aneurysm diagnosed via echo?

I think the CT scan comes later, after the echo. Having the Ct scan gives more precise data on anatomy, and mine was done closer to meeting a cardiac surgeon.

I did not get a CT scan when diagnosed. I got it as a pre-op test.

Mine was found on an echo. I had later Ct scans to judge size as CT is more precise.

I didn't know I had an aneurysm until I met with the surgeon and to be honest, I can't remember if it was before or after the CT scan

Yes, I asked for it years ago after reading the research and the cardiologist agreed.
Yes. I was taking a low dose for many years before surgery.
What does it do?
My cardiologist told me it helps as prophylaxis for aortic dilatation, and could delay surgery for as for decreasing the regurgitation leading to less stress on the left ventricle.
Thank you Max, never heard of it and have had two aneurysm’s surgeries.
